Maps released by Emergency Management Otago show the areas in Otago at risk from Tsunamis. Acute events like Tsunamis may be rare, but it is important to plan and prepare for them nevertheless. In doing so we can also work on the chronic problem of climate change and sea-level rise, which together increase the spread of flood hazard zones.
