If I have to move, I’ll do it my way

It can be easy to forget that every flood event, every damaged home has profound and personal impacts on citizens and communities.  Unfortunately, we are seeing more stories like this one about Hector on the West Coast,  which may end up being abandoned in the face of increasing storm and flood damage.  It is the human faces of these challenges that drives us to find solutions that respect community, provide people with healthy, affordable shelter, and enable us to adapt proactively.  The Climate Safe House project is about adaptive planning to climate change, recognising the need for communities to have a say in how adaptation happens and how retreat is managed.
